At this time, there are no live televised Women's Olympic Games events but we show you a history with the TV guide of the last broadcast seen on television.
We will update this Women's Olympic Games agenda on TV when we receive confirmation from official media of the next live televised events of Women's Olympic Games.
Since the beginning of this website, 79 live televised events have been published.
The first event published was on Wednesday 3 August 2016 and the channel that broadcast Women's Olympic Games matches the most times was Discovery+ with a total of 52.
The Women's Olympic Games are the football tournament of the Olympic Games. It is held every four years and brings together the best teams in the world. It is organized and managed by FIFA. Since Atlanta 1996 it has been held on an uninterrupted basis.
The places to participate in the event are distributed among the different confederations. Generally, the teams access the Olympic event through the main tournament of their continent. On some occasions, specific competitions are held to decide the qualifiers for a region. Brazil, Sweden and the United States are the only countries that have played all its editions. Unlike the men's, in which U-23 teams compete, the women's has no age restrictions.
The Women's Olympic Games are made up of 12 participants. The teams are divided into three groups of four nations. The top two of each qualify for the playoffs. In addition, the two third classified that have obtained the most points also advance to the next round. The quarterfinals, the semifinals and the final are played as a single match. If regulation time has ended in a draw, an extension of 30 minutes is disputed. If equality is maintained, the winner is decided with a penalty shoot-out. The two countries that lose in the semifinals compete in a match for the bronze medal.
The historic medal table of the Women's Olympic Games is dominated by the United States. The North Americans achieved the gold medal in four of the first Olympic Games of this discipline. Germany and Norway are, so far, the other two countries that have won the tournament. Africa and Oceania are the only two continents that have not yet had representatives in the top three of an edition.
The United States was the inaugural champion. The American team finished in the second position of group E, after reaping two victories and a draw in the three matches of the first phase. In the semifinals, they beat Norway thanks to MacMillan's golden goal in extra time. In the final, they defeated China by a score of 1-2 in front of 76,489 spectators at Sanford Stadium. Norway got the bronze medal.
Rio 2016 was the first edition in which the US team did not get on the podium. Sweden and Germany starred in the first gold medal match between European nations. The Germans prevailed by a score of 1-2 with goals from Marozsán and Sembrant at their own goal. Canada finished the event in third position.
